Leviathan Raze

The Leviathan Raze happened well before Xell'has was even a continent, but it's one of the reasons why it broke so completely. Before the creation of Dragons there was another race that held the title of Worldbearers.

Colossus were a natural evolution on Tos'var, massive elementals that formed the lands and seas in two distinct sub-species. Titans ruled the land and skies, and Leviathan called the seas and depths their home. These two factions were constantly at odds, and the planet shifted depending on who was winning. Ocean engulfed the world if the Leviathan were winning and mountains and land overtook the sea if the Titans were.

Eventually they battled themselves into near extinction, the land now being the remnants of the Titans entombed bodies and the saltwater oceans being the blood of the Leviathans long since slain. But these grand elementals left things behind...pockets of their former power. This is what the Orc race unknowingly struck in their attempt to smite their enemies, power rippled through the earth and struck something. Echoes of an ancient beast cracked the continent into pieces in an event known as the Sundering.
