Overview
- "Mysterious and ever-changing lands.” (Source: [OG] Adair Audio Part 2)
- "Change is the nature of these lands, and part of its charm is never quite knowing what the new day might bring.” (Source: [OG] Adair Audio Part 2)
Characters
No characters are currently in The Shifting Wilds.
- Bartholomew is from The Shifting Wilds, but currently resides in Canies. (Source: Discord)
Government
- "The Sk’han Courts is the governing body of the Shifting Wilds." (Source: Discord)
Sk’han Courts
- "The Sk’han Courts is the governing body of the Shifting Wilds. A triumvirate of the three dominant races withing the lands, Elven, Lycan and Fae. It is slowly moving towards becoming a quadrumvirate with the steady growth of the Wendigo race. They stand as the "order" in the chaos of the Wilds, and are the grand authority in the land." (Source: Discord)
- "Change is not limited to their own borders, and as such as the foreign nations evolved and became more established, the races of the Shifting Wilds saw the need to establish themselves as well. So the three dominant races struck a deal with each other to support and defend the Wilds and all that called it home. And thus the Sk'han Courts were founded.” (Source: [OG] Adair Audio Part 2)
- The Sk'han Courts are "a triumvirate governing body that brought a sense of order to the Wilds. Although, most outside of the country would still refer to it as a chaotic mess. Nevertheless, the Courts were quite successful in unifying the Wilds and has proven to be an effective force in allowing the many races that live there the opportunity to prosper.” (Source: [OG] Adair Audio Part 2)
- "Representatives in the Sk'han Courts are chosen differently depending on race. Lycans have a sort of tournament to decide their leadership that involves both physical and mental trials, while the Elves select theirs by mass debate followed by an election." (Source: Discord)
- "Representation in the Courts is largely determined by the amount of territory that a race controls or the amount of influence they have. The Wendigo have the smallest territory at around 3% of the Wilds but the abilities that they are naturally skilled with make them valuable in the efforts of the Court. And many believe that excluding them will only drive them to seek allies in other nations." (Source: Discord)
- "Most countries view them [as "a chaotic mess," as mentioned in [OG] Adair Audio part 2] because of the staggering differences that the various factions have. Culturally they are quite distinct and tend to butt heads quite frequently, leading to a union of different cultures with less focus put on a national identity." (Source: Discord)
Factions
- "[Similar to] the Night Life gang in Brookemore, punk elves and hybrids from the Shifting Wilds cause mischief and trouble. Night Life is mostly in Brookemore, but there are a few chapters in the [Shifting] Wilds and Canies." (Source: Discord)
Trade
- Currently, trade with Canies has been getting sporadic and less frequent. Bartholomew theorizes that "the Sk'han Courts are redefining themselves again," since "it's been quite some time since the Wilds have had a large-scale flux." The last he recalls is a few years after the Redglade War, so he imagines there's a sense of urgency for change. (Source: Bartholomew Audio Part 3.)
